~ On the Road to Salmo, B.C. ~

We left WHISTLER exactly at 6:03 p.m., drove south towards VANCOUVER, then along Highway 3 to PRINCETON where we booked the Sandman Inn for the night. (Dogs allowed!)

After a decent night’s sleep, a walk with Donner the dog, we drove into the little town of PRINCETON for a picnic brunch in their little garden central. I waited outside with Donner, while they went into Save-on Foods, but the choices were very little …. so they came out with baguette, strawberries and blueberries. Yum. Plus I did have a Seven Grains Salad that I bought at the IGA before we left Whistler. After a quick bite, we carried on to KEREMEOS (Okanagan), where we shopped for freshly picked vegetables!!!  There are plenty of markets along this route to choose from.

After a quick shop, and another quick drive to OSOYOOS, we stopped for another break ….. to meet family, to walk the dog, to swim, to skateboard and to do some cartwheels ….

This was Donner’s first encounter of waves…… she quite loved playing with them!

After some fun in the sun, we went to Smitty’s where my son and I ordered custom made wraps with lettuce, spinach, avocado, carrots and cucumbers along with a green salad with a balsam vinaigrette. He had the french fries which I sampled and found very delicious as well!  They were very accommodating and the waitress even came back to ask if we were vegetarians or vegans…. no thank you to the mayonnaise!  A great dinner to end a great traveling day!
