That was breakfast this morning…. well, actually, brunch! I can’t remember where I got the recipe from, sorry, on-line somewhere, but if you add the following ingredients together….
- 1 C. flour (whichever: today, I used whole wheat)
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 2 tbsp. baking powder
- little salt
- 1 C. soya milk (I used almond milk today)
- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
- little vanilla extract (something I always add, I don’t think it was on the recipe)
- ground up flax seed (again something I always add, this time 4 tbsp, don’t think it was on the recipe either)
…a yummy breaky…!

During my busy week, I was in Function Junction, and popped into Olive’s Community Market, an organic grocery store, for a latte and a treat. My latte had almond milk (they have a variety of non-dairy milks) and a vegan treat.
It was an energy bite with lots of seeds (flax, hemp, chia), but I wasn’t really crazy about the flavour unfortunately. I thought it tasted a bit bland. I think I was wanting a little more sweetness in this little bite. Nice and chewy and crunchy though! Next time, I will try something else…there is so much to choose from, so that will be no problem!
